Additional eastern medicine techniques that is incorporated with acupuncture:

Cupping Therapy:
The practice may date as far back as 3000 B.C., helping millions of people over many years, hosting a variety of health benefits with minimal to no side effects. Cupping can reduce pain by relaxing tense muscles and easing stiffness associated with pain. Some athletes have been known to use cupping to naturally improve athletic performances and recovery time from training. Not only can cupping therapy can help with pain, but it can also promote relaxation, boost skin health, improve digestion and helps to treat respiratory conditions, colds, and flus.

Bloodletting Therapy:
Do not let the name scare you, a few drops of blood are let out with a small lancet needle, and it can be just as painless as acupuncture itself. Bloodletting was common throughout ancient cultures and not unique to the West until it faded away when conventional medicine came into scene in the 19th century. This therapeutic technique can stimulate the immune system and help improve blood circulation in the body. From my own personal experience as a Traditional Medicine Chinese Doctor, bloodletting is a therapy that is just as good, if not even better than acupuncture when it comes to treating pain and a variety of health conditions.

Gua Sha Therapy:
Gua Sha is a remarkably similar to its western counterpart the Graston Technique. A smooth-edge instrument is used to apply a stroking motion with moderate pressure on certain areas of the body, mostly on the back and neck to cause redness or bruising, thereby producing an anti-inflammatory response effect that carries through several days after treatment. The ancient therapy helps to break up any stagnation and helps to move oxygen and promote the blood flow to the injured area thereby relieving pain to the local and distal areas in the long-term. Not only is gua sha commonly used to treat pain, but it also has an immune protective effect which can be utilized to address other conditions such as asthma, cold and flu
